Forest cut down for making a film in Bengaluru. The KGF start Yash starring as hero in the movie TOXIC. The ministry of forest officially confirmed that reserved forest was cut down by the movie production team for shooting. Peenya forest region of 599 acres was declared as reserved forest by gazette notification. The satellite images shared by the minister show that all the trees in that region were cut down.
How forest region allotted for shooting:
In the year 1960, the forest department of Karnataka government transferred the forest land to HMT. This process was down without any proper channel. Such as any of the forest land must be de notified while providing it to private entity. But as per them it has not done. Supreme once stated a statement regarding forest which is “Once a forest always a forest”. Through this statement of supreme the forest minister claims that the protection of the forest is always under their department.
HMT controversy:
Decades ago, that party ruling transferred the 599 acres of land to HMT (Hindustan machines and tools). It was a leading watch making company. In those times HMT was a leading watch making company. From the last decade its operations were shutdown. Titan’s entry has made them huge loss it is and another matter of rivalry. In the 1960’s HMT took the land unofficially and used it without disturbing the forest properties.
Years passed HMT was slowly getting down. Then they decided to lease the land to private entities. This continuously done through years. They have also provided the land to film shootings. Here the controversy is as the land is not de notified and given to HMT. So officially land reserved for the forest area. Until the forest has not disturbed the thing is okay to do any activities.
But when TOXIC film has taken the land for lease which is five acres. And in part of film sets they have encroached the land. Encroachment means cutting down 100’s trees in reserved forest area.
Karnataka on Yash toxic movie shoot:
Eshwar Khandre forest minister is his inspection of forest land has spotted that these five acres of forest has been cut down. He ordered the officers for the satellite images. Those images clearly show many trees vanished from that area from last year’s image.
Up are the image before and after the shooting images posted by forest minister. It clearly shows cut down of trees for the yash toxic movie shooting.
Cutting down forest trees is a punishable offence. The Forest Minister has ordered a proper enquiry into this matter.
Political issues over yash toxic movie shoot:
The Union government minister says that HMT is the official owner of that land. The Karnataka government is playing cheap politics over films. But as per the sources the land was not de notified officially. Until it is de notified it belongs to forest.
Claims on forest:
Karnataka forest minister reclaims the whole 599 acres of land under government. The land value is around 10,000 crores. He has officially power to reclaim the land to them.
And, after investigation there would be official punishment for the movie production team. Which may impose as fine of money. Or regrow the forest in that area.
When forest cut down unofficially. The court ordered them to pay money and plant some thousands of trees.
What to do with Yash in this matter:
Yash has become the India’s start hero. He has a huge fan base in Karnataka. And we also know film heroes’ words are listened to by many people and inspires them. Does Yash know they have cut down the trees of shooting toxic movie we do not know the thing. But as he is a Karnataka proper person, he might know there were trees in that place. Because the HMT area is popular one.
It is good that as a socially responsible person Yash comes out to the media and gives any positive statement regarding re forestation. By seeing him there would be some hundreds of people doing it. A mistake has been made and they need to do justice for that mistake.
